The Waterfall Experience
The waterfall is undoubtedly the most beautiful and favoured feature in a water garden. There's just something about that sound. The cascade of water over natural stone, the way it catches the light, the way it draws everyone in. Whether it flows into a full ecosystem pond or disappears into a hidden pondless reservoir, a waterfall transforms any outdoor space.
We design and build waterfalls of all sizes, from a single gentle cascade to multi-tiered falls with long stream beds winding through your landscape. Every rock is hand-selected and placed for the most natural effect. The result looks like it has always been there.
The Pondless Option
It might be difficult to imagine a waterfall and stream without a pond. Where does the water go? Here's how it works.
A pondless waterfall works much like a regular pond. The hole, deeper than a normal pond, is dug then lined with rock and gravel, and filled with water. The water is circulated from beneath the rocks and gravel by a pump that sits on the bottom, inside a snorkel.
A pipe runs from there up to the BioFalls and into an overflowing waterfall, where it falls back into the reservoir. Since the water level never pools above the level of the rock and gravel fill, it gives the appearance of a waterfall without a pond. In reality the “pond” is there, just not visible.
Pondless waterfalls don't require added filtration since the water circulates through the pebbles in the reservoir, filtering naturally. Just top up your water every week or two during the hottest months of summer.
It's a great option for those looking to fit a little bit of paradise into their own backyard, or for anyone with safety concerns about an open pond.
